World Suicide Prevention Day

It’s heartbreaking to hear that more than 65,000 Australians attempt suicide each year, and that suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45.

We as first responders are exposed to tragic circumstances and see the pain it brings to families and friends.

Our role as police officers is to keep Canberra safe and we have an natural instinct to protect people. It’s important as a community to band together and connect, communicate and care for one another.

You are not alone, it’s OKAY to talk and there is help out there with organisations such as Lifeline Kids Helpline and MensLine Australia.

You don’t have to suffer alone.
