ACT records 12th road fatality

The ACT has recorded its 12th road fatality following a collision between a vehicle and electric scooter yesterday (Sunday, 25 September 2022). 

About 3.10pm, police and emergency services were called to the corner of Drakeford Drive and O’Halloran Circuit in Kambah. 

Evidence from the scene suggested a car and an electric scooter had collided. The rider of the scooter had been thrown a substantial distance across the intersection. The scooter rider was not wearing a helmet. 

Emergency services transported the 19-year-old female to The Canberra Hospital with serious head and leg injuries however she has since been pronounced deceased. 

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are conducting an investigation into the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
