ACT records sixth fatality for 2021

Six people have died on ACT roads

About 5:30pm last Friday (18 June 2021) ACT Policing received reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on a pedestrian crossing near the intersection of Brigalow and Hall Streets, Lyneham.

An 84-year-old man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to hospital by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics for emergency treatment.

Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries yesterday (Thursday 24 June 2021).

Following an investigation by ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Investigation Team, police expect to charge via summons the 61-year-old woman who was the driver of the vehicle with negligent driving causing death.

She will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on a date to be fixed.

This is the sixth fatality on ACT roads in 2021.
