Arrests made after aggravated burglary in Turner

ACT Policing has arrested three men after an aggravated burglary occurred in Turner this morning (Saturday, 13 May 2017).

Around 6:00am, police were called to a unit on Forbes Street, Turner after the occupant contacted police informing them that three men had forcefully entered his unit and threatened people within.

Police attended and arrested two men within the unit.  The third man entered another unit prior to police arrival.  Information obtained from witnesses suggested that the man may have been armed with a weapon.

Police Negotiators and Specialist Response Group members attended the location and commenced negotiations with the man. After a period of time the man left the unit and was taken into custody.  No injuries were reported during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and being undertaken by ACT Policing Criminal Investigations.

Taskforce Nemesis members are assisting as police believe the incident may have links to outlaw motorcycle gang activity.
