Today’s (Friday, 4 December 2020) arrest came after police yesterday published CCTV footage of the man allegedly tampering with bikes on a city bike rack.

About 9.40am while patrolling the city, ACT Policing Territory Targeting Team members recognised the man from the CCTV footage and arrested him for the theft of the bike.

Police would like to thank the community for providing information through crime stoppers that contributed to the man’s arrest.

The man was bailed and is due to face ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

Investigations are still continuing in relation to the stolen bike’s location.

Police would like to remind the community to register their bikes on Bikelinc. Bikelinc helps police quickly return any recovered stolen bikes to the owner.
