Car fires see residents evacuated

Multiple car fires at a unit block in Belconnen has seen residents evacuated early this morning (Sunday, 14 March 2021)

About 6.45am emergency services were called to a block of units in Disney Court, Belconnen following reports of multiple vehicles on fire in a ground level carport.

Three cars were located alight and ACT Fire and Rescue extinguished the fires. Specialists are assessing the units for structural and smoke damage.

Residents of the units were evacuated with all occupants accounted for.

An investigation into the circumstances of the fires has been commenced by police.
