A mechanical drug press, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a white powder suspected to be cocaine were some of the items uncovered during a police search of a Greenway property on Thursday (19 May 2022).

ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis executed a search warrant on the home of an associate of an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).

Detectives executed the warrant following an investigation into the Comanchero OMCG activities in the ACT and surrounding district.

ACT Policing Officer in Charge of Organised Crime, Detective Inspector Mark Steel said this activity was a further positive outcome for Taskforce Nemesis and demonstrates ACT Policing’s commitment towards combatting serious and organised criminal activity.

“ACT Policing will continue to disrupt and dismantle criminal gangs operating in the ACT. This includes targeting their associates and professional facilitators - anyone associated with these gangs are on our radar,” Detective Inspector Steel said.

Enquiries relating to the ownership and operating of the items seized in Greenway are continuing.

Thursday's Greenway warrant follows a 30-year-old Coombs man alleged to be a senior Comanchero member being charged earlier this month with drug trafficking following an interstate arrest.

As part of that arrest, Taskforce Nemesis executed a search warrant at the man's home and located and seized approximately 700 grams of suspected Methylamphetamine, approximately $40,000 cash, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and ammunition

Police are urging anyone who may have any information relating to outlaw motorcycle gangs and associates to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
