Facebook post not terrorism related

ACT Policing has confirmed the recent reports of a Canberra teenager being contacted on Facebook by an IS recruiter are false.

Earlier this week the AFP was informed about an approach to a child’s Facebook profile from a person purporting to be from the Middle East.

The AFP have reviewed the matter and is satisfied that it is either SPAM or innocuous and there is nothing within the request to suggest any connection to any terrorist or militant organisation.

The AFP now considers this matter closed.
