Man charged with drug trafficking

A 26-year-old man has been charged with drug trafficking following a police operation in Belconnen yesterday (Friday, 30 April 2021)

About 2.00pm yesterday, members of ACT Policing’s Criminal Operations team intercepted a Nissan utility in a public carpark in Belconnen.

Following the execution of a search warrant, approximately 420 grams of cocaine was discovered in the vehicle.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with trafficking in a drug other than cannabis and unlicenced driving.

The drugs, his vehicle and a sum of cash were seized by police.

The man is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today.
