Man charged for hiding camera in wardrobe

ACT Policing arrested and charged a 30-year-old man yesterday (Monday, 14 December 2020) on image abuse charges.

On Saturday, 28 November 2020, a woman reported to police she had discovered a hidden camera located in her wardrobe at the Turner residence.

Police commenced an investigation into the allegation that a man, the woman’s housemate, placed the hidden camera in her wardrobe to obtain intimate images of her without her knowledge.

This investigation led police to seize the man’s electronic equipment discovering 95 files containing intimate images of the woman recorded between 31 July 2020 and 21 August 2020.

The man was arrested yesterday and bailed to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, 18 January 2021 for two charges of Intimate observations or capturing visual data etc (Images).
