Man dies after being crushed by car

A 70-year-old man has died after a car he was working underneath fell on top of him.

About 4.40pm police were called to a residence on Namatjira Drive in Chapman, where ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Ambulance were on scene.

ACT Ambulance assessed the man; however it appears he died of the injuries he sustained prior to their arrival.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the circumstances and the matter will be referred to the ACT Coroner.
