Man to face court following stabbing in aggravated burglary

ACT Policing arrested a 44-year-old Giralang man in connection with an aggravated burglary yesterday (Wednesday, 14 October 2020).

Police will allege the offender entered a residence in Flynn about 12.20am on Friday, 25 September 2020, attempting to steal money while the resident was sleeping.

The man awoke and confronted the offender who proceeded to attack the victim leaving him with stab wounds to his torso before fleeing.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at hospital. 

Following an investigation police arrested the man at a residence in Coombs yesterday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court on Monday, 9 November 2020, to face charges of aggravated burglary with intent to cause harm, theft and intentionally wounding.
