More illegal weapons seized by Operation Kilcoy

Operation Kilcoy

Three illegal gel blasters, resembling long arms, are the latest weapons seized by ACT Policing officers attached to Operation Kilcoy. 

About 4.30pm Thursday, 25 May 2023, police seized the three weapons which were surrendered by the owner, who had become aware he was in possession of prohibited firearms after reading a previous ACT Policing media release about weapons seized by Operation Kilcoy. 

Gel blasters are classed as prohibited firearms as per the Firearms Act 1996. 

ACT Policing is also urging anyone with information about illegal firearms to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously. 

Anyone wanting to arrange surrender of firearms or firearm-related items can contact the ACT Firearms Registry on 5162 9076 or actfirearmsregistry@afp.gov.au. Please do not bring such items directly to a police station.
