ACT Policing’s Operation TORIC has arrested three people for vehicle offences and breaches of bail conditions.

About 9am yesterday (Tuesday, 28 March 2023), police received reports that a stolen Mazda Bravo connected to an investigation into a recidivist offender was parked on a residential street in Chisholm.

Operation TORIC members established a cordon around a nearby residence, with additional resources provided by Tuggeranong patrol, Woden patrol, the Proactive Intervention and Diversion Team and Police Canine.

About 3pm, a 27-year-old woman left the residence in another vehicle and officers performed a traffic stop. Police checks revealed she was in breach of her bail conditions. The woman was arrested and will appear in court today charged with driving while disqualified.

Officers also observed a 28-year-old man wanted for allegedly driving the stolen Mazda Bravo in the backyard of the residence. When members entered the residence, they arrested the man hiding in a bedroom.

He will face court today charged with two counts of driving a motor vehicle without consent, joint commission theft, make off without payment, and breach of parole obligations.

A 30-year-old woman in the residence was also arrested on an outstanding warrant, as police checks revealed she had failed to attend a mandatory Sentence Administration Board (SAB) meeting – a parole requirement for previous offences.

All three people are expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.
