Police car involved in collision

ACT Policing is investigating a collision in which two vehicles, including a police car, were damaged.

About 11.40am today (Saturday, 8 March), a police patrol car was responding to an emergency situation with its warning lights and sirens activated when it was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen at the intersection of Alinga Street and Northbourne Avenue.

The police officer was conveyed to hospital with minor injuries for observations; and the driver of the Volkswagen, a 19-year-old male, was conveyed to hospital for assessment. He was released a short time after.

No other persons were injured in the collision.

ACT Policing Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) attended the scene and is investigating the incident.
