Police investigate attempted aggravated robbery in Lyons

ACT Policing is investigating an attempted aggravated robbery at the Friendly Grocer store in Lyons last night (Thursday, 17 September).

About 8.00pm, a man brandishing a knife entered the store on Devonport Street demanding cash from the attendant. As he made the demands, he was disturbed by a customer.

The offender then fled the scene without taking any cash or property, running in a southerly direction towards a nearby pedestrian underpass.

The male is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm (5’9”) in height with a thin build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black jacket, black pants and was covering his face with a mask.
