Police investigate 'dog baiting' incident

Police are investigating a 'dog baiting’ incident in Higgins yesterday (13 April).

Police were called to a residence in Higgins after reports that CCTV footage captured a man throwing an item into a backyard about 5am that morning.

Meat covered in a green chemical substance was located in the backyard.

Fortunately, the dogs at the location did not ingest the substance and were not harmed.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident.
