Police investigate suspicious fire in Rivett

Suspicious fire

Investigations are underway after emergency services attended a fire in Rivett on Wednesday morning.

About 12:40am Wednesday, 22 December 2021, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Policing attended Angophora Street, Rivett following reports of vehicles on fire.

On arrival, police found two vehicles well alight in the driveway of a residence. 

ACT Fire & Rescue extinguished the fire with both vehicles sustaining significant damage.  No other vehicles or buildings in the area were affected.

Detectives from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations are seeking witnesses, CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident, or of any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the fire.
