Police renew call for witnesses to assault in Civic

ACT Policing is renewing its call for witnesses to an assault at Mooseheads nightclub in Civic on Sunday, 8 January 2017.

About 4.10am police responded to a report of an altercation involving a number of people, which resulted in a male victim suffering facial injuries. The alleged offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cm (5’11”) to 186cm (6’1”) tall, with a medium build and short, dark coloured hair. He was wearing a long sleeved shirt, dark pants with white shoes.

In February 2017, ACT Policing appealed for witnesses to identify the offender, releasing CCTV of the altercation which showed the alleged offenders face and obscured the faces of witnesses. Information received from the public as a result of that appeal was helpful in the investigation. However, police are now calling for further witnesses to come forward.

ACT Policing re-released the CCTV, which now does not have the faces of witnesses obscured.

Police are urging anyone who recognises themselves in the footage to come forward and assist with enquiries.

Witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6056567. Information can be provided anonymously.
