Police seek to identify alleged fraudster

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man following alleged fraudulent transactions and theft of a motor vehicle.

On Friday 20 November, it is alleged the man stole a number of items including a bank card from a white Holden Astra at the Red Hill summit carpark.

The alleged offender smashed the car’s window before a bag containing a wallet and keys was stolen.

The alleged offender was later captured on CCTV completing a number of fraudulent transactions totaling more than $500 using a stolen bank card at two petrol stations and a supermarket around 6.30pm the same day.

It is alleged the man was driving a stolen silver Subaru Liberty bearing ACT registration YOL41P.

Police have followed a number of avenues of enquiry but are yet to confirm the identity of the man.
