Police seek witnesses to Gordon collision

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to or footage of a single vehicle collision in Gordon last night (24 March 2021).

About 7:05pm police responded to reports of a collision in Jim Pike Avenue.

Police have spoken to a number of pedestrians who were present for the collision; however, there are a number who are yet to come forward.

Police believe the vehicle lost control, travelling through a wire fence and clipping a tree before damaging a pedestrian handrail and street sign.

The vehicle then continued down a rock wall before landing on the footpath.

The driver fled the scene but was later located at his Gordon residence.

The driver was issued with an immediate suspension notice and further charges are being investigated.
