Second person charged following methylamphetamine interception

A 40-year-old Page man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 25 November 2021) charged with drug importation offences following the interception of 4.5 kilograms of methylamphetamine earlier this month.

On Tuesday 23 November 2021, as part of the ongoing investigation, ACT Policing Drugs and Organised Crime Team executed a search warrant on a Page residence.

During the warrant, methylamphetamine was located, along with drug paraphernalia, suspected stolen property and more than $15,000 in cash.

The man has been charged with attempted possession of a commercial quantity of an imported drug and trafficking in a controlled drug.

This is the second arrest in this ongoing investigation, and police anticipate further charges will be laid.

Anyone with information about the importation, distribution, manufacture or supply of drugs in the ACT is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
