Senior Comanchero identified as man who died following Civic disturbance

ACT Policing can confirm the identity of the man who died at Kokomo’s over the weekend as 48-year-old Pitasoni Ulavalu from Kaleen.

ACT Policing has also set up a dedicated team, drawing on a wide range of police expertise to investigate this matter. This team consists of members from Taskforce Nemesis, Criminal Investigations, Homicide and Intelligence areas.

About 12.05am, on Sunday (19 July 2020), police responded to reports of a disturbance at the corner of Bunda Street and Genge Street, Canberra City.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics also attended, and treated two injured men at the scene.

One of the men, Mr Ulavalu, sadly died at the scene.

Police can also confirm Mr Ulavalu was the Commander of the Canberra chapter of the Comanchero’s Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Police are treating Mr Ulavalu’s death as suspicious, and the matter remains under investigation.
