Tuggeranong hosts final Safe Plate for 2014

Tuggeranong Police Station, in collaboration with the Tuggeranong Hyperdome, will hold the final Project Safe Plate for the year this weekend (October 25).

Between 10am and 2pm this Saturday, ACT Policing officers, Volunteers in Policing and AFP Graduates, will be fitting, free-of-charge, tamper-proof screws to motorists registration plates at the Tuggeranong Hyperdome (Coles ground level car park entrance via Reed Street North).
Project Safe Plate is a joint initiative by ACT Policing and local businesses in combatting number plate theft.

Officer-in- Charge of Tuggeranong Police Station, Sergeant Jo Cameron, is urging motorists to take advantage of this free offer from ACT Policing.

“This is the final Safe Plate that ACT Policing is holding for 2014. Take some time out this weekend to come down to the Hyperdome and have your car fitted with tamper-proof screws,” said Sergeant Cameron.

“The replacement screws are fitted free-of-charge by us and by fitting these special fasteners to your car makes your registration plates less of a potential target for thieves,” she said.

If your registration plates are stolen, report it to ACT Policing on 131 444.
