UPDATE Police seek wanted man ARRESTED

UPDATE: The 32-year-old man who absconded from The Canberra Hospital on the 13th of November has been arrested in Sydney.  

ACT Policing General Duties from Gungahlin Patrol identified the man was in Sydney and worked with NSW Police to locate and arrest him at Central Railway Station on Monday (5 December 2022) and his extradition to the ACT was granted yesterday (Tuesday 6 December 2022).  

He is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on one additional today (Wednesday 6 December 2022) with one additional charge of obtaining a financial advantage by deception and to answer his existing arrest warrant.

ACT Policing is seeking information from the public to locate a wanted 32-year-old man.  

He absconded from The Canberra Hospital in Garran about 2pm Sunday, 13 November 2022.  

He was last seen travelling on foot in the direction of Launceston Street, Phillip.  

He is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, with a medium build, olive complexion, short black hair and dark eyes.  

He was last seen wearing a green high vis jumper with writing on the back, blue jeans, and black shoes.  

Police ask members of the public not to approach him if located but to call police on 131444. 

Anyone who has seen him, or who has information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444.
