Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Monash

Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred at the Goodwin Retirement Village in Monash early this morning (10 May 2016).

About 1.00am, members from Tuggeranong Police Station responded to a report that two males had entered a residence at the Goodwin Retirement Village, assaulted a male occupant, stolen a sum of money and attempted to steal his motor vehicle.

The male occupant was struck in the head and on the arm by one of the offenders whilst trying to defend himself. He was treated by ACT Ambulance Service officers at the scene before being transported to The Canberra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two male offenders attempted to leave the scene in the victim’s vehicle, however were unable to start the vehicle. They broke a window of the vehicle prior to leaving.

The two male juvenile offenders are described as being around 15 to 16 years of age. One male offender was wearing grey-coloured clothing, while the other was wearing black clothing. Both offenders had their faces covered. 

AFP Forensic Services attended and examined the scene.
