Witnesses sought to Lawson shooting and arson

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and information relating to a shooting and arson incident in Lawson overnight.

About 10.00pm last night (Wednesday 10 June 2020) police were called to a vehicle fire at a home in Narrambla Terrace, Lawson.

At that residence two vehicles were located in the driveway on fire and were partially extinguished by the residents and neighbours and then fully extinguished by ACT FireĀ & Rescue.

Police found two partially melted fuel containers under one of the vehicles and identified a number of bullet holes spread across both levels of the home.

A crime scene was established and the AFP Forensics and AFP Firearms Identification and Armoury Team attended and conducted an examination of the scene.

Police believe a number of persons were involved in the incident, with two people seen running away and getting into a dark coloured four door hatch style car that was parked near the intersection of Narrambla Terrace and Solong Street shortly prior to police arrival.

Police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity in Lawson overnight or who may have any CCTV, dash-cam footage or information that could assist police, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
