Woman charged with perverting the course of justice

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with offences including perverting the course of justice after she was arrested by ACT Policing detectives yesterday afternoon (Friday 1 April 2022).  

In March this year, detectives from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations received a report regarding the alleged serious assault of a 22-year-old man at an address in Dunlop.  

Detectives investigated the allegations, and subsequently executed a search warrant at a residence in Dunlop.  Evidence gathered during the search warrant indicated that after the assault, a 24-year-old woman assisted two of the alleged offenders attempt to conceal their involvement in the assault from police. 

On Friday 1 April 2022, the 24-year-old woman was arrested at her residence and subsequently charged with perverting the course of justice, destroying evidence, aiding in an assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and being knowingly concerned in a robbery.     

The woman appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.
