A 63-year-old Narrabundah man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 22 October) charged with drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving with a suspension after being caught by police for the third time in three years.

About 7pm on Friday 21 October police were patrolling in Griffith when they pulled over a blue Mitsubishi on Stuart Street.

After the driver failed to produce a licence, police conducted checks on the vehicle which revealed the driver had a disqualified licence.

The man was given an alcohol screening test which returned a positive result. He was conveyed to the City Police Station for the purpose of a breath analysis where he returned a reading of 0.195.

Further checks revealed the man had been charged with drink driving and driving while disqualified in August this year, and his licence had been suspended until 26 November 2016.

The man has appeared before the Court on 11 prior occasions where he has been convicted for various drink driving offences.

The man was given an Immediate Suspension Notice.
