Fatal collision in Stromlo

ACT Policing is investigating a single-vehicle collision in Stromlo this afternoon (Wednesday, 2 March) in which a male motorcycle rider has died.

About 5.00pm, police responded to a report that a motorcycle had collided with a tree on Cotter Road, Stromlo.

ACT Ambulance transported the man to The Canberra Hospital, however he died shortly after.

ACT Policing's Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

This is the first fatality on Canberra's roads this year.

This fatality comes one day after the launch of the Country Roads Safety campaign and is a tragic reminder to drive to the conditions on country roads.
