Man arrested for property damage and assault

ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old man following an altercation in Macgregor last night (Thursday 8 March).

Police were called to a residence in Waylen Place just before 10pm where the resident reported his property had been damaged and he’d been assaulted by another man.

Two men were located nearby with one being identified as the offender. While attempting to arrest the offender, police were confronted by a third man who began threatening to fight police.

Police called for additional resources to diffuse the situation.

The offender was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning on charges of Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Obstruct/Resist Territory Official.
