Man charged with intimate image abuse

A 46-year-old Forde man has been charged with intimate image abuse following search warrant activity yesterday morning.

ACT Policing recently received a complaint from a woman who alleged her former partner had taken and shared images of her without her consent.  

Yesterday (Wednesday, 26 April 2023) officers attached to ACT Policing’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Forde.  

A 46-year-old man was subsequently arrested at that residence and he was charged with one count of obtaining an intimate image without consent and six counts of distributing an intimate image without consent.  

He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 27 April 2023).
