ACT Policing has arrested a 33-year-old man for multiple offences who will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Friday, 10 March).

It is alleged on Sunday 5 March he robbed a man while brandishing a weapon in Greenway. The offender then followed the man in his car to a local shopping centre and made further demands that he pull over and give him his pin number while threatening him with another weapon.

The offender later attended the man’s work demanding money to which he complied. The man returned home from work and discovered he had been burgled so he called police to report it.

The offender was arrested on 7 March where he had in his possession property belonging to the man.

About 7am on Thursday 9 March, ACT Policing were conducting mobile patrols of the Pine Island Reserve in Greenway ACT, when they located the offender sitting in a car that had been reported as stolen.

The man attempted to escape from police after being arrested. A knife was located on the man following his arrest. He was taken to Tuggeranong Police Station where he was found to be in possession of a small bag containing what is alleged to be Methamphetamine.

He was then transported to the ACT Regional Watch House where he was charged with drive motor vehicle without consent, attempt to escape custody, possess knife without reasonable excuse, possess prohibited substance, aggravated robbery and blackmail.
