Man extradited to face assault and robbery charges

A 30-year-old man has been extradited from New South Wales and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 7 December 2022) charged over an incident in Acton in October.

Police allege that about 4.10pm on Tuesday, 4 October 2022, a woman returned to her vehicle parked in Acton near Corkhill Street to find three people spray painting existing signage on her vehicle. It is alleged the man then assaulted the woman and damaged her mobile phone.

Following a police investigation, the man was arrested on Monday, 5 December 2022 at Sydney Airport.

The man was returned to the ACT yesterday (Tuesday, 6 December 2022) and will face charges of robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, destroy/damage property, and deface private premises.

This matter remains under investigation by police.
