Man to face court after Calwell incident
A 21-year-old Wanniassa man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday, March 15) after an incident last night in Calwell, when he threatened police officers with a knife.
ACT Policing officers were called to a Calwell residence around 7pm yesterday in response to a disturbance at that location. When they arrived, a man appeared from shrubbery at the front of the house carrying a knife and making threats toward the officers.
After a period of negotiation, the offender dropped the knife, was handcuffed by police and placed under arrest.
He was later charged with possessing an offensive weapon with intent, and common assault.
