Man to face court on drug and fail to stop charges

A 27-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (20 January 2020) on drug and fail to stop charges.

On January 3 2020, police executed a warrant at a residence in Banks and located methamphetamine, cannabis and a sum of cash. The man was not home at the time.

About 9.30pm on 15 January 2020, the man was stopped on Colquhoun Street, Kambah, where he returned a positive roadside drug test.

He was placed under arrest for the possession of illegal substance charges related to the warrant executed in Banks.

The man fled in his vehicle driving at speed. Shortly after, police observed the car being driven at speed in a dangerous manner southbound on Drakeford Drive.

About 11.45pm, 18 January police located the vehicle at a hotel in Curtin. A short time later, the man was located inside and was arrested before being taken to the ACT Watch House.
