Man to face court following ‘dog baiting’ incident

Facing court

A 71-year-old Higgins man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Monday, 31 October) following a police investigation into a ‘dog baiting’ incident in Higgins.

On 13 April, police were called to a residence in Higgins after reports that CCTV footage captured a man throwing an item into a backyard.

Meat covered in a green chemical substance was located in the backyard.

Fortunately, the dogs at the location did not ingest the substance and were not harmed.

The Higgins man has been summonsed to appear before court where he will be charged with lay poison for a domestic animal or native animal.

We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
