Man to face Court following the seizure of 14 firearms

A 23-year-old Kambah man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning following the seizure of 14 firearms.

Following an investigation into aggravated robberies across Canberra, Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Team yesterday (Thursday, 18 January 2018) executed a search warrant at a residence in Kambah.

During the execution of this warrant, police located and seized 14 firearms of various types including improvised firearms, modified rifles and pistols. Numerous other firearm parts and ammunition was also located and seized.

As a result, the male was arrested and will today face the ACT Magistrates Court charged with unauthorised possession of firearms, unauthorised manufacture of firearms and possess ammunition.

Police will oppose bail.
