Man to face court over aggravated robbery of Kambah IGA

A 23-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning in relation to an aggravated robbery in Kambah on Wednesday night (22 August 2018).

On Thursday, Police received information identifying a suspect for the robbery. Using this information, ACT Policing Criminal Investigations members executed a search warrant at a premises in Monash.

Items seized during the warrant matched those used by the offender during the aggravated robbery, while a Holden Rodeo utility located at the premises matched the description of a vehicle used as a getaway car.

Following this operation, a man was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated robbery. Police will oppose bail.

Detective Acting Station Sergeant Tony Crocker said this operation was another example of ACT Policing targeting and disrupting criminal activity within our community.

“This is a reminder that police will actively investigate crime in our community,” Detective Acting Station Sergeant Crocker said.

“This incident occurred on Wednesday night, and less than 48 hours later, we have a suspect facing court.

“I would like to commend our members and those who supplied information to police.”
