Man to face court on traffic and property charges

A 33-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 22 November 2017), following an incident in Belconnen.

About 3.10pm, on Tuesday, 21 November 2017, officers from Belconnen Police Station conducted a traffic stop on a stolen motor vehicle.

It is alleged the man tried to evade police, colliding with a brick wall of an apartment building. The man again drove away from police and a short time later tried to evade police on foot before being apprehended.

The 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with Ride/drive motor vehicle without lawful consent, unlicenced driver/rider – licence never held, fail to stop motor vehicle for police and two counts of unlawful possession of stolen property.
