Manuka incident resolved

About 1.40pm this afternoon (Tuesday, 25 March) ACT Policing responded to an unconfirmed report of a man understood to be in possession of a firearm.

No firearm was sighted. Police are also investigating whether the report was as a result of a hoax.

Whilst the police were responding to this report, and as precautionary measure, a number of schools were placed in lockdown in the Manuka and Red Hill area.

These lockdowns have since been lifted.

A 25-year-old man is now in custody on a First Instant Warrant.
