Multiple weapons seized during search warrant activity

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and prohibited firearms seized following a search warrant at a residence in Ngunnawal.  

About 9.30pm Wednesday, 25 October 2023, members of ACT Policing Criminal Investigations – Major Crime Squad, supported by general duties patrols, and AFP Specialist Operations, Tactical Operations, and Negotiators, executed a search warrant at a residence in Ngunnawal.  

During the search of the residence, police seized: 

  • One long arm air rifle; 

  • Eight gel-blaster pistols; 

  • Two gel-blaster rifles; 

  • One gel-blaster sniper rifle; 

  • One gel-blaster assault rifle; 

  • One gel-blaster sub-machine gun and; 

  • One handgun cartridge 

The 24-year-old man is set to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court next month after being charged with unauthorised possession of 10 or more prohibited firearms. 

Police would like to remind the community that gel blasters are considered prohibited weapons in the ACT.
