Name of deceased cyclist released

ACT Policing can confirm the name of the cyclist killed in a collision on the Monaro Highway this morning (Friday, 31 March).

The deceased is Mr Michael Hall. The family of Mr Hall has requested that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

A report on the incident will be prepared for the ACT Coroner and no further comment will be made.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has yet to speak to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers website. Information can be provided anonymously.

ACT Policing is investigating a two vehicle collision on the Monaro Highway this morning (Friday, 31 March) in which male has died.

About 6.25 am, police responded to a report of a collision on the Monaro Highway towards Williamsdale between a car and a cyclist.

ACT Ambulance Service attended and the male cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

ACT Policing's Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

This is the third person to have died on ACT roads this year.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
