Police arrest wanted man

ACT Policing yesterday arrested (Thursday, 2 March) a 35-year-old Kaleen man wanted on a First Instant Warrant.

The 35-year-old man was identified as the offender who allegedly drove his car at high speed towards police to avoid apprehension on several occasions throughout February 2017.

Investigations into the whereabouts of the man led police to the 7-Eleven convenience store on Ashley Drive, Erindale where his vehicle was parked.

On exiting the store the man saw police and fled on foot. He was later located on McBride Crescent where he was arrested by police and taken to the ACT Watch House.

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning where police will oppose bail.
