Police closely monitor Outlaw Motorcycle Gang

OMCG member to face Court following seizure of drugs, firearms, ammunition and explosives

ACT Policing will be closely monitoring members from the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) as they travel to Canberra ahead of a national meeting in Fyshwick on Saturday (22 October).

Deputy Chief Police Officer of Crime, Acting Commander Susan Ball said that police are expecting up to 400 Rebels OMCG members, arriving over Friday and Saturday.

“ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis will be assisted by Traffic Operations and General Duties members in monitoring any intimidating, antisocial or illegal activity over the weekend,” said Acting Commander Susan Ball.

“ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis is a dedicated police team targeting OMCGs, and ensures that when events like this occur, we have the resources to manage the situation and that the impact on our community is minimal.”

“If members of the community are concerned by the presence of OMCGs, whether it’s in or at business premises or in residential areas and require police attendance, please call 131 444.”

If you do not require police attendance, suspicious activity can be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
