Police execute search warrant in relation to firearms incident in Isabella Plains

Today, (Thursday, 1 February 2018) officers from Criminal Investigations, Taskforce Nemesis executed a search warrant at a Coombs residence in relation to a shooting and arson incident at Isabella Plains on Tuesday, 18 July 2017.

Police believe the 24-year-old male occupant of the residence is an associate of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).

Officers seized ammunition, prohibited weapons, including knuckle dusters, and illicit drugs, including a substance suspected to be cocaine.

The 24-year-old will be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date in relation to weapon and drug charges.

Police believe a silver Toyota Corolla hatchback seized in July 2017 was involved in the incident.

The investigation into the shooting and arson incident remains ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information about the vehicle or the incident that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
