Police investigate aggravated robberies at ANU

ACT Policing Criminal Investigations are investigating two aggravated robberies at the Australian National University campus last night (Friday, 28 October).

Between 8.00pm and 8.30pm, two male victims were assaulted and robbed during separate incidents at different locations on the campus. One of the victims had been on foot and the second victim was riding his bicycle through the campus.

In both instances the victims were approached and assaulted by two male offenders who also stole their belongings. One of the victims suffered facial injuries and was conveyed to Calvary Hospital.

The two male offenders are described as Caucasian in appearance, about 183cms (6’) tall, in their 20s and wearing black hooded jumpers. One of the male offenders was also wearing a multi-coloured bandana.

Police are investigating the link between these incidents and three similar incidents at Australian National University between 25 October and 28 October, and one similar incident at the University of Canberra on 25 October.

ACT Policing is working closely with the Australian National University and University of Canberra in relation to these incidents.
