Police investigate death in Fisher

ACT Policing is investigating the death of a 21-month-old boy in Fisher last night (Wednesday, 30 December).

ACT Ambulance Service was called to a residence in Fisher, where a toddler had been found in a backyard swimming pool. ACT Ambulance Service transported the toddler to The Canberra Hospital.

About 7.40pm, police were called to The Canberra Hospital after the toddler could not be revived.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations are investigating the circumstances around the death however at this stage do not believe the death is suspicious.

Acting Superintendent Matt Craft said “unfortunately this tragic situation is a reminder that water and children can be a very dangerous combination”.

A brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
