Police provide update on body located in Majura

ACT Policing Homicide Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding a body found in Majura yesterday (Thursday, 19 November).

On Tuesday (17 November), police appealed to the public to locate the driver of a 1986 cream coloured Toyota LandCruiser located in the Molonglo Gorge. The vehicle has since been linked to the disappearance of Evatt man, Mr Andrew Carville.

ACT Policing officers were conducting a search of Majura following information from the public that this vehicle had been seen in the vicinity of Majura around 12 November.

AFP Forensic Services were then called to the scene and conducted an extensive examination of the area. A post mortem will be conducted over the weekend. Once complete, formal identification of the body may be possible.

Detective Superintendent Paul Shakeshaft has urged the public to report any information, no matter how small, to Crime Stoppers immediately.

“Even if you think what you know about this investigation is not relevant, let police make that decision. You may hold the missing piece we need to solve this investigation,” Detective Superintendent Shakeshaft said.
