Police renew call for information regarding Giralang arson attack

ACT Policing is renewing its call for witnesses and information from the public in relation to an arson attack in Giralang in October last year.   

To aid this renewed call for information, police have also released images of the alleged offender and two vehicles of interest.     

Police understand about 12.40am on Friday 13, October 2023, a person wearing a face covering arrived at a residence on Gidjili Place in a green Ford Mondeo bearing NSW registration EUB48T.  

CCTV footage shows the person walk down the driveway of the property carrying a large, red jerry can, before setting fire to the property and fleeing the scene on foot.    

ACT Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire but not before it caused damage to the residence.    

Two women who were asleep in the house at the time of the arson attack were unharmed.  

While the Mondeo was recovered at the scene, police have also released images of two other vehicles that were captured on CCTV in the area after the incident. These vehicles appear to be a white sedan and a dark-coloured SUV.  

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, who may be able to identify the alleged offender, or who may have any information regarding the vehicles of interest.
